PCC club history
Ploughmans has developed a proud tradition in its relatively short history. Originally a club founded for the sheer fun of playing the game it has grown of late into one which can provide a good standard of cricket for all abilities. But the core values of playing the game the way it was meant to be played – hard but fair - and with the emphasis on playing for fun still remain. You can find out a little more about the club’s origins and history by clicking on here.
Each year the club holds its Annual Awards Dinner to honour its “great and good” and the report of the 2002 event will give you a flavour of the evening. You can also visit our “Roll of Honour” where past winners of the various awards are detailed for posterity.
The annual tour, recently exclusively to the charming Cotswold town of Fairford, is always the highlight of the season and you can peruse the exploits of previous tourists by clicking on the link.
At Ploughmans we are very proud of our traditions but believe there is always time to make a little more history in the present. Each season throws up stories and tales which will enter the annals for future generations to treasure.
If you would like to come and “make some history” with us then you can email our Recruitment Officer,
Matt Ashton to find out how to join in the fun. Other member of the Committee can also be contacted,
