Even Max and Tom do. One arrives 2 hours ahead of the start time or visits the loo 3 times before 11am. Just something to remember if you ever feel a little nervous.
Anyway, everyone wants to do well, so I was nervous on the way to the first 1st League game of the season. The early season postponements probably amped things up a bit.
We arrived somewhere closer to Brighton than London with overcast conditions.
We won the toss and bowled. Pre match had calm focus and good energy.
Liam and Ash opened up and both found good areas on a tough batting wicket. It’s sometimes difficult to bowl well when the pitch is in the bowlers favour but both did what they should do and have done for years.
Ash effectually took a couple of wickets by frustrating the batters by giving them nothing to hit. Drew replaced Liam and found pace and bounce immediately.
Things started to happen in a hurry.
Ash taking 2 fer off 8 overs being replaced by by CRS.
Drew was the star of the show taking his Ploughmans maiden 5fer. Pace and bounce with relentless line and length.
