After the trek to the ground and various pit stops at some exquisite vape shops (if you are ever in Woking, please check out the European Shop GU21 6BW) it’s fantastic), we made it to the ground.
The covers finally got pulled off after a 30 minute rain delay and we lost the toss. Surprisingly, the oppo elected to bat in awkwardly overcast conditions and we rallied for war.

Our openers set the standards, Grayzer and Puff bowling in great areas and making the batsman play. After 2 overs, our Skipper selflessly replaced himself for Drew as he knew the importance of taking advantage of the new rock.
On comes Drew, bowling express gas that no one could handle. After some relentless bowling from Drew and Puff and some ridiculous fielding - puff makes the break through with a jaffer that wrapped the openers pads. Big Eric had no choice but to send the batsman packing.
I think we had the opposition 60 odd and a couple down from the 20 overs at drinks.

Tom GJ claimed an important wicket of the oppos captain with potentially the ball of the innings (full hopper hit straight to a Ploughmans fielder for an easy catch). Inspired fielding and bowling kept the pressure on, forcing London Welsh to make mistakes and they finished 142 all out.

Shoutout to the whole team for that bowling and fielding performance. Leo and AJ bowling a ridiculous set destroying the oppos innings, bowling 8 overs straight through.

Leo picked a couple wickets up, AJ with one also, hooping the ball all over the gaff. Ben Fletcher calmly running the gun batsman out running in from mid off to clip the bails off and taking 3 very good catches. Suri didn’t get any catches, however was solid behind the sticks making some great stops to some challenging bowling.

Following some great teas from Puff with his man of the match pork curry and Sean’s gorgeous quiche, we headed out to bat...

Long story short, Sean got a jaffer from the opener who was bowling some great line and lengths. Suri destroyed some very good bowling, taking the Plough to a great start and taking the pressure off the rest of the team. Chicken shop and Ben Fletch batted
elegantly and almost took us home together. Leo replaced chicken, hitting a gorgeous six and generously allowing Fletch to hit the winning runs with easily the shot of the day, clipping the ball on the leg side for 4.

In conclusion, the Plough are going up. Incredible bowling, fielding and batting performance and some pints were sunk afterwards.
