The skipper opened the bowling stylishly with a wicket in the first over. Despite the sensible appearance of the decision to bowl first, bats 2 and 3 settled in and started knocking the ball about.

The first change saw Bakary and debutant Alex 'Goody' Goodwin, playing for the first time in eight years, take up their respective ends. Despite some fearsome batting, Goody got two wickets on debut: the first, thanks to the safe hand of Bakary; the second, clean bowled. In fact, Goody saw an potential threefur dropped sent to Dave a deep square leg. Unfortunately, the catch was so on that Dave had enough to time set, contemplate that this was a Goody's third wicket and he must absolutely not drop such a plumb catch and, inevitably, drop it. This batsman went on to score 130-odd runs.

As Tunnacliffe stepped up to bowl, the opposition batter went down with a backspasm, which saw him carried off the pitch on a chair rather in the manner of a Hora dance. Tunnacliffe was quick to question wether this counted as his wicket - the spasm was almost certainly induced by the lethal pace of his spin bowling.

Meanwhile, the opposition gun bat was caught by Rob of a T-rex delivery, but opposition bench were keen to alert the umpire that his foot had grazed the boundary rope. About this decision, Trent could only be described as not a happy chappy. With the gun finally caught by elmo off Drew's closing spell, a superb diving catch from Harrry saw the skip get his threefur and the opposition finish on a rather tidy 361.

After tea, the plough returned to the field with Elmslie and Trent opening the batting. They saw off the first few overs on a pitch that, far from a road the opposition total might imply, rather resembled a minefield. An unfortunate breakdown in communication once again rendered the T-rex not a happy chappy as he was runout.

Harry Edmonds came in at three and sured up the the innings as a partnership began to build. However, a catch at midwicket just before drinks saw Elmo leave the field.

After drinks, Tunnacliffe and Harry dug in and really started to entertain the crowd. Sixes were hit, treetops were cleared and at least three replacement balls were introduced to play. Moments before Tunnacliffe hit his fifty, Harry Edmonds hit his second ton in as many weeks with a remarkably classy a boundary.Tunnacliffe continued to pile on the runs after Harry was bowled and hit his century just minutes after the fifty.

Rob was bowled, which saw Max, keen for a bat, or more accurately a retirement from the second centurion, enter the fray in the penulitmate over and notch up a total 1*. Tunnacliffe followed shortly after, leaving skipper Drew to see off the match with an overthrow for four. Despite losing by (barely) 100, the batting meant Plough finished on a high. We saw a great debut by Goody, a threefur from the skipper and exquisite batting from Centurions Harry and George.
