The Plough arrived to a lovely venue and what appeared to be a good batting track and a fast outfield.
Unfortunately the toss was won by the oppo and they elected to bat. The plough opened the bowling with Lewis Wilby and Calumn Daley. Both bowled aggressive spells and with a superb delivery Calum sent the stumps flying in his second over with a beautiful in-swinger.
A good 3rd wicket partnership from Thames Ditton had us up against it. But another weekend and another milestone for Steve Britto, breaking the partnership and bringing up his 150th wicket for the club.
Si Carson was then amongst the wickets with a lovely LBW do dismiss the oppo’s dangerous looking number 3.
Britto then knocked over another 2 putting the plough back in the game. However, a very solid 6th wicket partnership for Thames Ditton took them to 285 from the 40 overs
The Plough opened up with Hanzi and Will. After a flurry of quick wickets we found ourselves 19 for 5. Hanzi and Britto steadied the ship. Hanzi unlucky to get out on 45.
Britto was then joined by Lewis at the crease who wasted no time getting in and hitting the ball to all parts to a swashbuckling 52 not out- brining up his 50 with a huge six over mid wicket. Britto anchored the innings to end with superb 87 not out but unfortunately we fell short of the target.
We go again next weekend! Plough On!
