On Monday evening notification rings in my mobile i am 100% sure that it was notification from pitchero but it’s from facebook says people you might know but i don’t even know who they are. After some time Notifications rings again this time i was sure it’s from pitchero and it was . The level of excitement can’t be expressed in words when you see “ Do you play “ from pitchero . “ Definitely yes” saying myself and went happily to look up the team sheets it makes me more happy that I’m going to play with club chairman who scored his long waited 1000runs last week. One of the club legend which i played the most games with.

Due to an early dropout Tom Lonnen filled in the Xi another club legend who I never played with him before. Oh wait the other friendly side as well going to play at DSG and skippered by Rahul THALA nair, I’m very happy. I know this weekend is going to be fantastic one and start watching calender I can’t wait for sunday. After six slow days and nights finally the day arrived . Sunday morning the weather was not perfect it was pissing down all and around london but still good to play.

As Three lions were advanced to Euro 2024 R16 they’re going to play their first knockout game against Slovakia later in the (sunday) evening . Oppos were really keen to finish the match much earlier and to watch some southgate ball . So we are up for an early start and finish the match quickly without a break which means no teas, straight 70 overs in action . We all head early at the G . And both skippers were agreed for 35 overs game to finish the game earlier and to watch some football.

And unfortunately oppos won the toss and put us to bat first in the overcast conditions . Suri and Jo hockings open our innings. Oppos opening bowlers was quite good hit the line and length beautifully and didn’t bowl any loose balls. Suri and Jo were brilliant, blocking the good balls hit the bad ball . Hockings played a beautiful straight drive that was unarguably shot of the day . Imagine left handers playing straight drive or cover drive will be the most beautiful things to watch specially hockings playing straight drive was class . Unfortunately he got out to mid wicket to the same bowler next over.

Next in no 3 Jay patel doing his things in the middle played some beautiful shots around the field but got top edged to the worst ball it feels like ‘the reminiscent of a soldier who survived the war when all the bullets were flying by his nose and then got run over by a bicycle in his native town.’

Then in went Tom lonnen really stood out there for a while and keeps building partnership with Suri . Both tickings the score column steadily. Basically we have a surgeon at one end and a butcher on the other end . Two were going brilliantly and kept the run rate high . Runs coming easily Lonnen found the gaps After a fine innings Lonnen got caught and bowled.

Even though wickets falling in one side Suri smashed their bowlers for fun . 6 and 4 seems to have become the new binary code for Suri . Vikki , Ayslyn rogers, J Cashwin Mo khan went in to have a look at the pitch and returned to pavilion. Then our man in flying form this season Azharul came in . He carried the team at death overs. He is the light at the end of the tunnel in our batting innings finished with 21*. Greeny at no 10 played with Azharul kept the partnership going and finished with red inker. They batted till the end of 35 overs and didn’t let Si carson to come in crease . If you put a team full of number 11s Si Carson would still prefer to come at 11. We ended on 193-9 after 35 overs which was a decent score to defend on.

The next innings start in a flash of an eye blink Tom Lonnen and Damon Green taking the new cherry .Lonnen firing some flare into the crease really kept the things tight . Their openers were didn’t play a convinctional shot against Lonnen all are edged and fall short of gully and point. On the other end Hero of our bowling innings a perfect gentleman and one of the most handsome plough Damon greeny hold the pressure of their openers . The ball hit the deck went leg side and we started celebrating Batsman got no clue why we celebrated and saw his wickets fallen, that beautiful ball hit the bails of the leg stumps. And in the next over again Green bowled a ripper and smashed the wickets again which made their another opener to go back. Greeny didn’t stop there he made their number 3 fall short to the gloves of Suri. Three wickets in his first spell. Oppos were 35-3 after 10 overs.

The man in flying form, our inswinging Cyborg scares the opponent with bat and balls come in as first change. The first ball he bowled the batter got no idea where in come from and where it goes he looked a child whose chocolate has been taken away. The very next ball he got out a well judged catch by Jay patel in gully. It was already 30 wickets for Azharul with halfway to the season. 37-4 in 11 overs , need 157 from 24 overs with six wickets in hand we were on the top of the game . We think that with loads of runs to chase, 9 out 10 time we would win the game but unfortunately we discovered the 10th time as well.

Their no 4 and no 5 hang out there for a bit takes time to settle in and smashed around the ground. Runs flowing much quicker we need a breakthrough badly , Mo khan brings that breakthrough a brilliant catch by Tom lonnen in deep midwicket. We don’t have time to breathe in they carried their momentum , they didn’t slow down. Still driving in top gear . 24 to win in last 6 overs Green and lonnen back into the attack . Lonnen bowled really well shame he didn’t take any wickets. Green at the other end takes the set batter out caught by myself at the line. We were in the game too lately. The next ball Damon smashed the stumps third time on the day which brings the fifer for the gentleman. And one cheeky run out in the end but it was not enough. They won the game by 2 wickets with 3 overs to spare. J Cashwin was brilliant in the field nothing pass him and great with the ball too.

The other game was still going on the nursery all went out there. We take our teas after the game . England trailing by 1 goal in knockout game vs slovakia and struggling to find the net . There are more star players in the still struggle against slovakia was shame . With Southgate I couldn’t see it was coming home . He got the star players he got best attacking side in Europe. Southgate is a prrson If he had Ferrari he would drive at 10kmph , if he was a Flash he would still walk , if he was batman he sleeps all night , if he was a prostitute he would still be virgin. He needs to change the system otherwise its never coming home. Ohh wait wrong chat!! . Nibbler came in and said “You know, Vikki, the other Plough game was more entertaining than this shit” which was actually true.

Leon, Spence, Leo, Suri, Lonnen, Greeney, Azha, Jay, Myself (thats a strong xi) on the sidelines cheering for the plough game unfortunately they’ve lost the match at the end . Some brilliant performances all around the day Jugs were flowing and had the quality time with the plough after the game . We go again next week and get that bloody WIN.
