No doubting the game started off well for us with Sean McGurn putting on a Zac Crawley'esque exhibition on a pitch which would have been better suited for ten pin bowling or bocce. McGurn has been a standout batter this year with trademark shots on both off and leg side that were worthy of a half ton.

Vignesh, played an excellent lower order cameo and deserved to double his score as we grafted our way towards 100 runs.

Unfortunately, the oppo seamers had the final say as we couldn't quite reach triple figures.

Veteran Lonnen was on a mission and was unrewarded unfortunately over his opening spell filled with plays and misses that we've come to know over many years.

Crane, after a rough start, delivered a terrific Trent Boult'esque spell proving why he is a reliable left arm change of bowler around the wicket.

With the oppo top order eventually making light work of their run chase, attention turned to the watering holes in time for the game which, fair to say, stops the nation when England reach the final of a major tournament - The European championship on this given Sunday.

A blessing in disguise it could be said.
