In comes in new opening batting partnership of Ean and Alex GW. After some good accurate bowling right and left hander combo the openers dig in to get to 8-0 off 7 overs, after Alex GW finally times a shot and hits a 4 he gets ahead of himself and tries to hit the next for 4 and is caught behind good catch by their WK. In come Ainslie who plays some delicious shots to up the run rate while and sets up a nice partnership with Ean. After Ainslie departs , 2 quick wickets of AJ and Jahangir fall and in comes Tom Lonnen for an absolute superb innings building patiently with Ean to dig in and get to drinks.

With their bowlers starting to tire in the heat, Lonnen and Ean get on top hitting some superb shots. After staying in for around 15 overs Ean gets caught at mid of for 31 , a real grinding stint and the glue in our innings staying in for 30+ overs superb effort. In comes George and I request to come on as umpire as fireworks are expected and fireworks delivered. Lonnen and George completely annilate their spin bowlers – George out for superb 30 odd of 14 balls. Lonnen then gets to his century just before close of innings a real fantastic batting innings and proper recovery to finish on 226.

CWC start and lose an early wicket good C&B from Richard, then another wicket falls. CWC then consolidate to make a good partnership but Niraj Thakker we some fantastic bowing gets their number 3 bat out brilliant catch from Ainslie. Now its on the Ploughman are fulling bullish and in comes their number 4 bat after some iffy shots I comment that I am interested in seeing him score some big runs he bites and gives a little back which is nice I love crowd participation. But alas this young superstar just cant get the better of some magic Jahangir bowling and is C&B’s by Janhangir a wonderful one handed catch they filmed game on youtube have to check it out.

Thir number 4 batsmen cant believe and as he lives screams at us “THIS IS YOUR CUP FINAL “ brilliant we tell to keep saying it while he walks off. Their other opening batsmen is batting beautifully and reaches a very well deserved 50 and then is looking even more solid but spin king George gets him to edge to Alex GW who juggles it off his helmet to take catch crucial wicket.

To clean up their innings skipper AJ goes to the metronic Lonnen who after his inspired century batting duly obliges with some very accurate bowling as always, they could not get him away.

Fair play to their number 7 batsmen who hits some lustful blows to get them to 200 but alas for them they ran out of balls and Lonnen secured a fantastic 3 more wickets 2 bowled and 1 caught from George to secure a fantastic 26 run victory. Was a game that really ebbed and flowed and thanks to CWC for game.
