Ploughamns lost the toss and had to bowl first, much the misery of a fair few hungover lads.

But, none the less the spirits was high as Lewis & CRS opened the bowling. After seven very economical overs Plough finally got their first wicket in the eight from a lethal slow ball from Wilby.

Four overs later Plough was at it again as Qamar took two wickets, bowling their number 3 and then forcing their number to play a looping shot into cover with Lewys ready to snatch (before theatrically falling over himself and rolling across the deck) Plough now starting to eat into the Spartans attack.

Following this the Spartans dig in and keep the scoreboard ticking over. Until the 16th with Bakary in the attack getting his man bowled and Nigel getting the 5th in the very next over with another catch from Lewys as shouts of ‘it’s easy, easy!’ Echoing from Suri. No pressure.

Wilby back in the attack with a bang forcing his man to drive down to CRS at long off with hands safe as houses. Up steps the captain himself Max to the bowling line up picking up a W in his first over with Bakary getting the catch of the day a shot into cover that looped in the air for an age. No one wanted to be under thy, but Baks made it look easy.

Another wicket each for Wilby and Gumpert seen of the Spartans in the 31st over and a total score of 190 to chase.

Morale was high after a strong bowling & fielding performance for an April game and given the oppo knocked Plough for almost 300 in the previous fixture.

The opening partnership of Britto & McGurn (Donning his off white chinos) took the crease. A strong start with a couple of boundaries coming in the first few overs was short lived with som good bowling getting Shaun. A couple of early wickets followed in quick succession until the skipper was in. A true captains innings with Max scoring his half century to give Plough a glimmer of hope with a mid order flourish with Qamar having a good go at the boundaries.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be. After Qammar was out the tail was rattled off with plough finishing on 127. 64 short of what was required.
