AJ leading from the front claimed to have won the toss and decided to bat. In went Yanni and Ean, the two put on a formidable partnership of 54 with the latter falling on 21 after some elegant stroke play.
In came, Greg, two handsome plough in the middle putting on a partnership of 128 with Yanni carrying his hot form and hitting his highest score of 78 eventually being bowled. In came Harry with the reintroduction of the yellow helmet and his fanzone. Both Greg and Harry tried to accelerate the scoring the midst of tight bowling eventually Greg out for 82. Harry still ended up with another red inker and carrying on that form from last year. Plough scoring 237.
Plough took the field everyone buoyed by the skipper, opening tight bowling spells with Crane and Callum. Callum showing his skill with the ball and just reward reducing the oppo to 27/4, some lovely stump work by AGW who forgot about his injury taking 3 superb catches and one Dhoniesque run out. Niraj with his new action came in hot and bowled 8 straight tight overs with support from Mo and Elmo with the latter taking a key wicket as Clapham In were motoring.
However with the game on the edge, skipper called on vice skipper to show how it is done. Greg not happy with batting led the show with the ball taking 2 key wickets and bowling miserly. However the skipper still not happy called on Callum who then came and ripped through the rest picking up his fifer. A just reward for his quality bowling. With another 2 overs left to find, Aj took the job on and took the crucial wicket of another batter who was threatening.
Rounding of a closely fought but brilliant win for the Plough. However there is always room to improve with Plough giving away 39 extras. A big shout out to Niraj who umpired the entire 40 overs of Plough batting innings and having the best seat in the house watching Greg and Yanni plundering runs out there. A great day out for the Plough led by AJ and made special by 10 other who joined him.
