Before the first over started we had Greg an All rounder not just in cricket but umpiring and grounds keeping,
We opened the batting with Yanni and Andrew Cosgrove. Yanni received a peach that he couldn’t do much with and got bowled.
That bought in Tom Lane who was striking the ball beautifully scoring boundaries with ease and building a nice partnership with Cosy for 107 after getting out to a leggy trying to clear the boundary for a very well made 66 off 60 balls
Out comes the plough Chef Ajay John who tried to get the scoreboard moving along before getting out lbw. That bought skipper out Callum Daley who was playing in one fashion only and that is to go after Chelsfield spinners which kept the score ticking with Callum and cosy building a good partnership rotating strike and hitting the odd boundaries until cosgrove tried advancing down the wicket to get stumped.
Callum batted around the rest of us and ended up getting out for a very well made 63 and Ploughman’s CC finished on 229-9 off 40 overs.
Chelsfield came out to bat and they knew they have to have a good start to win this match and they started off the first over very well scoring 15 in the first over.
Chelsfield were batting well going at a 10 an over then skipper bought on Willis and Azha to get some quick wickets there were a few chances from Willis’s bowling but fielders not helping until Ihtesham held on to one.
Willis and Azha made the batsman slow down a bit but it wasn’t enough as their batsmen were settled in and saw their team home.
